Project Spotlight: Aurora Public Schools
Aurora Public Schools has been in the process of retrofitting multiple schools and buildings within the district. After some boiler water complications at Gateway High School, including magnetite & biofilm, APS installed an X-POT 6 to treat the issue. Immediately, they noticed a huge difference in the system’s water quality. With Gateway’s improvement, APS continued to install X-POT filters in other locations.
Master HVAC Tech at APS, Mervin Walter said that they love the new units! APS now includes the X-POT in their standard spec, requiring them in all new-build mechanical system applications. They also intend to add an X-POT to all locations undergoing retrofit.

Yale Elementary School is just one example of a retrofit that APS has completed so far. This particular location has an X-POT Compact installed and is now in the process of cleaning the water within the system. The X-POT Compact is designed for smaller commercial heating and cooling water installations up to 9,130 gallons and 150 psi working pressure.
